Oregon Office for Community Dispute Resolution (OOCDR)
Housed within the University of Oregon School of Law, the Oregon Office for Community Dispute Resolution (OOCDR) supports the delivery of inclusive, accessible, and community-tailored mediation and restorative justice services across Oregon. The organization provides funding, training, standards, and support to a network of community dispute resolution centers. These centers offer mediation, facilitation, and other conflict resolution services to assist individuals, families, organizations, and communities in resolving disputes outside of the court system.
Problem: The OOCDR wanted to find strategic measures and ways to increase funding from the Oregon Legislature. However, they were having trouble securing funds due to affiliation with the University of Oregon (as its host for office space), as well as having a strong presence as an organization.
Insight: Research involving qualitative interviews with dispute centers, Oregon state representatives, and OOCDR employees show that there was a need to distance the organization from the University of Oregon, rebrand the organization to a more accessible entity, as well as create a new presence online.
Task: Create a Brand Restructure, Brand Strategy Guide, and Campaign Strategy for the organization.
Result: The organization distanced itself from the host university and created a new brand identity that encapsulates the local dispute resolution center under its umbrella. The OOCDR became Resolution Oregon with its separate website and social media channels. Additionally, the organization was consulted on methods and strategies to ensure secure funding from the state legislature, lobbying opportunities, and networking activations.
